Three Healthy Alternatives To Olive Oil

We’ve all been told that olive oil is pretty amazing. It’s rich in antioxidants that are good for the heart and oleic acid — a diet-friendly acid that helps to quell hunger and cravings. But lo and behold, olive oil is not the only healthy option for cooking good, wholesome meals. Here are three alternatives:

1. Avocado Oil

Avocado oil, like olive oil, is also rich in heart-friendly mono and saturated fats which help to reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and boost good cholesterol (HDL). And if you’re more into baking rather than cooking, avocado is a great option due to its light, buttery flavor. But its high smoke point also makes it great for sauteeing for all your cooking-lovers our there.

2. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been all over everyone’s various social media feeds for awhile now, with plenty of articles singing its praises over and over again. Well, there’s a reason for  that. Like avocado oil, coconut oil is another good alternative to baking because it’s high in saturated fat and chloric acid, which also helps to produce HDL (good) cholesterol. Bonus!

2. Grapeseed Oil

Finally, an unexpected but equally as important is grapeseed oil.  High in poly and saturated fats, this oil has a neutral flavor and a high smoke point so — you guessed it —  it’s pretty prime for sauteeing.
