Adele has done it again.
Her new album, 25, has smashed album sales records in the U.S., with nearly 2,500,000 sold in just over three days since the record was released on November 20.
This comes at no huge shock since the 27-year-old hit the music scene with a fiery punch with her album 19, making us all cry and sing vengeful lyrics with her. But what may come as a bit of a surprise is that Adele’s new album has actually beat one ’90s boy band’s record that was so popular it would seem that no one could outdo them. Well, Adele has managed to do just that!
That’s right, the British songstress broke N*SYNC’s No Strings Attached record, which was the previous holder at 2,416,000. Adele’s album sold more than 2,433,000. It was close but Adele shot past the Justin Timberlake-led pop group, most likely due to her hit single on the album, “Hello.” The video for the song hit another record, getting more than 27 million views in the first 24 hours it was released online. She even broke T-Swift’s previous record!
Well done, Adele, well done.
