In August 1969, New York City hosted The Woodstock Music and Art Fair also known as Woodstock festival, or simply Woodstock. The four day event was held in a dairy farm and attracted an audience of more than half a million people. However, it was occasioned by bad weather, big crowds, poor sanitation and food shortages.
The concert is considered a game changer in music history. A total of 32 acts took to the stage. In reference to the festival, other concerts were held later but none quite matched the caliber and hype of Woodstock’s. A documentary depicting the famous concert won the Academy Award Title in 1970. Here are some of the 30 photos from Woodstock that will blow your mind!
