The old saying “Hindsight is 20/20” certainly is true. The people who make decisions on who to draft in the NFL Draft each year could sure benefit from hindsight if there was a way to use it to correctly draft players. The draft is a crap shoot. Oh sure, sometimes you get what you thought you were drafting, but many times you got stuck with a lemon. In a sport where injuries are commonplace and hard to predict and also large sums of money are given to these young players and it’s hard to predict what that will do to them as well, it’s understandable that looking back on a draft can border on comical.
We are going to go back with our 20/20 hindsight here and “Re-Draft” the players in the order they should have been picked. Now, we realize that some players may not have been as good as they are had they been drafted by a different team, but we are not going to try and figure out which players would not have fit with certain teams. This is just picking the best players out of this draft and putting them with the teams that would have had that pick. Are we going back in time and replaying those seasons after the draft or picking up where we are now? Let’s assume we are going back in time, knowing what we know now, and then playing all these seasons over again. In other words, we are doing the “Back to the Future” thing here.
