This is actually a medical condition called dysgeusia which changes your sense of taste in pregnancy. It is caused by an increase of the hormone estrogen in your blood stream. The result is a tangy, electric, metallic-y taste that won’t go away for months on end.

It is most common in the first trimester. You can try and counteract the taste with acids. Drinking citrus juices, lemonade and even pickles!  Adjusting your prenatal vitamins can help out as well. Also brushing your tongue each time you brush your teeth or rinsing with a mild salt solution can decrease the weird taste.
