There are a lot of things we do in life that feel oh-so-right. A massive fry-up after a big night on the town, or stretching out in front of the air conditioner on a sweltering day – delicious. Guess what? We shouldn’t be doing them.
I, for one, will carry on doing the majority of these things because they feel so bloody amazing, but here’s a list of things we love to do and the reasons why we probably shouldn’t do them (just so you know).
Laying down and rubbing my eyes for ten minutes before I go to bed might just be my favorite part of any given Monday. Alas, rubbing itchy eyes only makes it worse and might also cause more permanent damage. You’re also increasing your chances of tearing, inflammation and cornea thinning. Yikes.
So you missed the first and second seasons of Game of Thrones; the only natural thing to do is watch them on rotation over the next week. But nooooo – APPARENTLY sitting down for long periods of time can cause weight-gain (who knew?!), and might also increase your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Ok, mom told us this one when we were only knee-high – but raw cookie dough should be its own food group. It’s that good. But the FDA still believes that eating raw eggs might give you salmonella or the dreaded E. coli, so we have to listen to them. One bite won’t hurt though…
