This Tortoise In Tokyo Has Better Style Than You

“Pretty” isn’t usually an adjective we think of as being synonymous with tortoises. At least it hasn’t been… until now. Because if this pink pinafore wearing tortoise in Tokyo isn’t pretty, I don’t know what is.

According to Rocket News 24, locals in the Tsukishima neighborhood of Tokyo often spot the fashion-forward African spurred tortoise going for walks with its owner.

This is significant for a number of reasons. First of all, who ever thought of taking a tortoise for a walk? Second of all, where does one such cute outfits for tortoises? Asking for a friend.

Of course, you’d have to be quite a patient and leisurely walker (i.e. not me) to be content with going for strolls at a tortoise’s pace. But it can’t be so bad, the pair have even spotted in Ginza, which is apparently a pretty sizable distance.

Expect to see the popularity of well-dressed African tortoises skyrocket as the pet of choice for grandparents in the coming months.
