If you were excited by the news of Emma Watson being cast as Belle in the upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast, then prepare to get even more excited. The former Harry Potter star and all-round classy lady took to Twitter today to break the news of who would play her love beastly love interest and, as you may have gathered from the title of this article, she did not disappoint.

If you’re a fan of The Hobbit then you may also be pleased at the casting of Luke Evans as the ultimate creep around, Gaston!

Cousin Matthew as the beast! If I’m being honest here, I didn’t lose any sleep over who they may or may not have picked for the role, but now that he’s been cast, I’ll admit he’s a pretty great choice. One thing’s for certain, his eyes sure do match the baby blues of his cartoon counterpart, so that’s one less thing to worry about at least. Now to see what they do about the fact that, at its core,  Beauty and the Beast is basically a romantic love story about furry Stockholm syndrome… But that’s a thought for another day. For now, let us bask in the glory of what a handsome onscreen couple these two will make.

This news also explains this tweet from Dan Stevens yesterday, which isn’t so cryptic now, but at the time just seemed a tad… TMI?
