Triple Grammy winner CHANCE THE RAPPER has urged U.S. leader DONALD TRUMP to rethink his stance on the hip hip star’s native Chicago, Illinois, because it sounds like he’s ready to go to war with the city.
Shortly after his inauguration last month (Jan17), the President vowed to send federal agents to Chicago to tackle the violence in the city, but Chance insists his hometown needs funding, not a war.
“I hope he’s coming in to do some type of federal overturn of our state and city budgets in terms of schooling and housing,” he tells ESPN The Magazine. “I’m tired of n**gas talkin’ about Chicago like it’s a Third World country… like it’s not a place of booming business with a very successful downtown and all types of new development. It sounds like he was announcing he was going to war with Chicago. I don’t like to look at s**t through that lens.”
The rapper is currently on a career high after picking up three awards at the Grammys on Sunday (12Feb17).
