5 Ways To Make The Most Of Your Beauty Sleep!


Pretty much every morning starts with the same drudgery of getting out of bed in time to get in your beauty regime. Well for most of us anyway. But if you only do the basics before you go to sleep (washing your face, brushing your teeth, moisturizing), you’re adding totally unnecessary time to your morning routine!

If you can take an extra few minutes before you pass out, you’ll be so thankful in the morning! These few tips will not only save you time in the morning, but in the long run, you’ll be so thankful for them!

1. Deep condition your hair

If you like to shower in the morning and wash your hair, deep conditioning once a week or so, can be so beneficial to the condition of your hair, and it can help save you time when styling it! Once a week, pop some treatment in your hair – if you’re strapped for cash, use some coconut oil – comb it through and leave it work it’s magic throughout the night. When you rinse it in the morning the softness will blow you away! And the more often you do this, the healthier your hair will become. Healthier hair is always easier to style so you’re multi-tasking in your sleep really!

2. Exfoliate your skin

Just washing your face is sometimes not enough. If you don’t exfoliate regularly your dead skin cells will start to build up and give you a dull, flaky complexion. If you can add an exfoliation into your skincare routine once or twice a week, you’ll notice the difference immediately. It’s your choice which type you go for and you can get some great ones in the drug store for pretty cheap but, if you want to stay in a budget mix some melted coconut oil with some brown sugar. Keep it in a mason jar for future uses. Take a little and massage it into your face, neck and decolletage in a circular motion. Rinse it off with warm/ hot water! Your skin will be glowing by morning, and you might even be able to skip the make up!

3. Tone

Toning your skin after you’ve washed it is so beneficial and not enough people do it! It can help reduce overproduction of oil, it tones saggy skin, and it prevents breakouts! If you can get some lemongrass toner – you can get pure lemongrass but you need to dilute it with water or it can be extremely harsh! Pour some on a cotton pad and smooth it across your face and neck. Leave it to settle before you apply your moisturizer!

4. Moisturize

We know you probably do already, but moisturize more than just your face! After you’ve washed your face, you should massage your moisturizer into your skin to firstly improve circulation, but secondly to make the most of the product! After that, you should really moisturize your hands. Wrinkled hands are one of the worst giveaways of old age and you can delay that for much longer by just moisturizing! Keep a bottle of your favorite hand cream beside your bed so it can be the last thing you do at night. And remember, massage it into your cuticles! Dry cuticles will ruin the most beautiful manicure!

5. Sooth Your Eyes Bags

It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you’re dehydrated and sleep deprived enough, you will get bags under your eyes. Have a glass of water before you go to sleep and apply some eye cream after your moisturizer. It really shouldn’t matter if you’re in your late teens, your 30’s or your 60’s, you should be staying hydrated from the inside and the outside! You can get eye creams in the drug store for varied prices depending on your budget, but it’s a product we would recommend investing in. If you are stuck for money though, green tea bags can give you some instant relieve! Brew some tea, leave it to cool and pop the teabags under your eyes for 15 minutes! The difference will amaze you.
